Three days post amp and Penny has amazed me. Yesterday I had completly worn myself out trying to drag her in and out of the house in order to do her “business”. Every time she would lock her body up and refuse to budge. This morning, however, she jumped up and started to walk to the door like nothing has ever changed. She was following me around the house. She was chasing after Rocket. I would leave the room and return to find her gone from where I had last left her. This girl is not only moving but she is moving fast!
What makes this even more impressive is that before the amp Penny was slow and heavy on her feet and not at all athletic or agile. Now she is moving better than ever before.
Something the kids and I wonder about is if laying down on the side of the amputation is more comfortable for her now. Her head lays so flat on the ground and looks so much more comfortable that it ever did.
The husband’s old t-shirts were just not fitting her very well but still need to keep the sutures covered so luckily The Dollar Tree had shirts and I picked up a couple new ones. She is looking very stylish.
Good night sweet little Penny. Can’t wait to see if you have any more surprises for me tomorrow.
That is wonderful news! It sounds like she is doing great 🙂 It seems to be easier for tripawds to do their moving around at a faster rate. I think it is a little like trying to lift something, if you do it slow, you hurt more and use more muscles balancing it, but if you go fast, it seems smoother.
Pretty girl!

Gooooood news Penny!!!
Everyone warned me about how quick the Tripawd “hop” was going to be. But it is another thing to witness first hand! We called it the tripawd locomotive ;0)
Here’s wishing you an even better tomorrow!
